Reviews for Moon Wah Takeaways
Review highlights
Based on 444 reviewsMoon Wah Takeaways in New Brighton is frequently praised for its generous portion sizes, with many customers noting that single orders often suffice for multiple people. The food is generally described as fresh and flavorful, avoiding greasiness common in fast food. While taste opinions vary, the overall quality meets expectations for a casual Chinese takeaway. A consistent theme in feedback concerns wait times, which can be lengthy, especially for walk-in orders; customers suggest calling ahead to reduce waiting. Additionally, the interior's cold temperature during winter is a common drawback. Despite these points, patrons find the value and serving sizes justify the experience, making Moon Wah a popular choice among local takeaway options.
Awesome huge servings of great tasting food. 1 order was easily enough for 2 people. During winter the wait is very cold.
Everyone says the wait times long well maybe go on a Wednesday at 1pm there ain't no one there , first off I'd like to say I didn't get any maggots in my rice or any cat meat like I've seen on other reviews. I got a decent sized sweet and sour pork enough to feed 4 oversized people the chunks of "pork" could have been cut smaller though, it tasted ok like it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst, the chips pretty good, the fish taste like ocean and the hotdog taste like dog. The service, guy no speak English well but he smile so that's a 5star. ALSO CRACK UP TO HYEJI LEE in the reviews who ordered sweat and sour pork
Was it worth the 45min wait as a walk in order, yes yes it was. Huuuge portion, going to last me 3-4 meals. Taste fresh too, not greasy. Very cold in the shop and recommend phoning ahead as you will cut your wait time in half.
This was our first time at Moon Wah. And it was worth the $42 we spent. Definitely would go back
